Seeing Ourselves As Others See Us

Though we may try to understand their viewpoint when we communicate with others, we cannot grasp their perception of us. Their reality is how they perceive us. Our reality is how we imagine they perceive us. They are not the same. To understand how others view us, we need to first determine how we view ourselves.
What does the word conditioning mean to you in terms of how we run our lives. Do you believe that you are conditioned?

As you evolve and work on your own flaws, you are enhancing your ability to communicate openly and honestly with everyone, including yourself.
Reaching happiness in your work.
Many with whom I have worked over the years started out frustrated and learned to develop happiness and compassion while working. The ability to reach this state while working is critical as their work became more meaningful, consequently enhancing their view of life itself. A life without meaning becomes a wasted life. Meaning results from enthusiasm. If we are not enthusiastic and convinced how we can help a client, we cannot successfully sell ourselves to the client.
Eyewitness reports are accurate.....or are they?
Have you heard about one of the most famous psychological experiments done at Harvard by students involving passing a basketball and clearly showing us our blind spots? This is amazing! After discussing, you may find it brings considerable humility to all those with whom we come into contact.
The toll stress takes on our lives.
Many of us are walking stress cases and don't even realize it. We have been this way, and assume that's the way it is. The truth is it does not have to be once, through awareness, we see what we, in fact, are doing to ourselves. No one does anything to us internally. We are the guilty party.
The mind doesn't know the difference between that which is real and that which is not. Our perception is our reality.
This is a true statement. Brain maps have been taken with MRIs showing parts of the brain that light up depending on the circumstance presented to it. Whether one directly experiences an event or just thinks about it brings about a similar brain mapping. Let's talk about this and how we can use it to our advantage. This will help us to become significantly better at expanding our consulting practices and becoming happier and healthier human beings in the process.
Stanley Sidman brings multiple backgrounds to his work. Within five years of graduating from Boston University, Stan decided to become a stockbroker. Within one year of working with the oldest New England brokerage firm, Stan was promoted to direct a training program for new brokers. By his third year, he was moved up to become an institutional broker and was transferred to Wall Street establishing large clients in Dallas, Houston, Galveston as well as in New York.
Having been trained by a securities analyst, Stanley realized that left brain training alone was inadequate in terms of truly understanding people and prospective clients. As a result, he made a vow to himself that if he were ever to be involved in the biz-dev space, the training would have to incorporate a "whole brain" process, not one with just a powerful left brain orientation. It would have to be one which provided a deeper understanding of people, how they think and why as well as the technical skills required to move situations forward......business or otherwise.
As a result of his background experiences plus exhaustive reading over the decades in behavioral/philosophical issues, Stanley has brought together an understanding for participants in his group and/or consulting clients that is unique. Many attendees over the years have told Stanley that they haven't been to a group anywhere in the country that will deal with the issues that Stanley addresses. There are no sacred cows and anything that will provide an opportunity to learn, even though it may create inordinate levels of stress, is fair game.
As a Certified Hypnotherapist and a Certified Practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linquistic Programming), Stanley brings a perspective into the business development space that will assist you in all of your dealings with people.....your prospective clients, existing clients, associates, suppliers, sub contractors, etc. And yes, it will even offer a great assist in your personal relationships.

Take the Massachusetts Turnpike to Exit 15 (Interstate 95/Route 128; if driving from the East; Exit 14 if driving from the West). After the tolls, follow the signs for Route 95/128 South. Exit Route 95/128 South at exit 19B (Highland Avenue, Needham). Follow Highland Avenue for 1.5 miles to a three-way intersection with Chapel and May Streets; bear slight right onto Chapel Street (to the right of the gas station). Take a right at the first light onto Great Plain Avenue/Rte 135. Then follow "From Great Plain Avenue" directions below.

From Great Plain Avenue
Proceed on Great Plain Avenue for 1.5 miles and the Olin College campus will be on the right. Enter the campus at "Olin Way" and follow the road around to the left to parking lot A, which provides access to all campus buildings. The meeting is in the auditorium at "Milas Hall", which is the first building to the right, as you walk up from the main lot. Handicap parking is available.
